Recent Developments in the Field of Early Identification and Prevention of Risks in Food Safety and the Role of these Developments in Risk Analysis

Seminar Objectives

The seminar aims to provide a general overview on emerging risk identification and risk analysis tendencies and familiarize participants with the outcomes of the SAFE FOODS project. The event will provide participants with a unique opportunity to exchange information on the different national approaches on emerging risks and risk analysis, share their food safety experience, engage in discussions and develop professional relationships. Through a short presentation of each participating country, seminar attendees will obtain information about the different national food safety systems.

Seminar Participants

The seminar aims to bring together risk assessors, risk managers and other stakeholders from Russia and the surrounding countries interested in identification and assessment of strategies for emerging risks in food and feed production.

The seminar will be located near Moscow city, Russia in the Hotel Zvenigorodskiy RAS (www.zvenigorodskiy.ru) on 05-06 of February, 2008.

Language

The official language of the seminar is English. However, simultaneous translation from English to Russian will be provided throughout the event. Therefore, good knowledge of either of these languages is required for participation in the seminar. English and Russian will also be the languages of all the materials distributed to seminar participants.

Seminar Methodology

The seminar methodology includes presentations of the Safe Foods trainer’s team, presentations of each participating country about the different national food safety systems, discussions among participants and group work.

Application Procedure and Financial Conditions

In case you are interested in attending the seminar, please fill in the attached Application Form, and send it together with your CV to following e-mail address: dorafazekas@spi.pt or by fax to 00351 22 609 91 64. The deadline for application is 10th of December, 2007. Please note that the seminar has limited capacity – a list of accepted participants is expected to be finalised by 20th of December, 2007. In case you need assistance in Russian, please contact Dr. Anatoly Zherdev: zherdev@inbi.ras.ru or 007 (495) 9542804.
The persons selected for participating in the seminar will have the possibility to benefit from financial support for determined expenses up to a maximum level to be defined by the organiser after receiving all the applications on this matter. To apply for such support, please complete the attached Request for Financial Support Form and return it together with the Application Form. You will be notified on the decision about the possibility of receiving financial support and rules of obtaining it in December after the decision on the final group of participants (document to be available for download).
